8. Climax has 44 acres of newly affected land for the current (2011) report year. <br />9. Climax reclaimed 172.4 acres of affected land during the current (2011) report year. <br />10. Climax estimates that approximately 52 acres will become affected in the next (2012) report <br />year. <br />11. Climax estimates that between 75 — 120 acres will be reclaimed in the next (2012) report <br />year. <br />12. The total acres in various stages of reclamation since permitted mining activities began are <br />as follows: <br />a. Total acres backfilled: NA — all reclamation earth -work consists of regrading. <br />b. Total acres graded: 1,385 <br />c. Total acres seeded with approved mix: 1,120 <br />d. Total acres with topsoil replaced: 617 <br />e. Total acres mulched with approved mulch: 307 <br />f. Total acres fertilized with approved fertilizer: 608 <br />g. Topsoil replacement depth: 6 —12 inches <br />h. Mulch application rate: 1 ton per acre <br />i. Seed application method: Hydroseeder for slopes > 50 %, Broadcast for all other <br />areas <br />j. Fertilizer application method: Hydroseeder <br />k. Mulch application method: Hydroseeder <br />13. Climax has prepared several maps depicting the permit boundary, current affected area <br />boundary and locations of the acreages specified in items 7 — 12 and 14. The maps <br />included in Appendix 2 attached to this report are as follows: <br />a. Map 1 — Depicts the permit boundary, current affected area boundary, the acreage <br />currently affected, the acreage that was newly affected in 2011, and the estimated <br />new acreage to be affected in 2012. <br />b. Map 2 — Depicts the total acreage that has been reclaimed, the acreage that has <br />been reclaimed in 2011, and the estimated new acreage to be reclaimed in 2012. <br />c. Map 3 — Depicts the total acreage that has been regarded and the total acreage <br />capped with topsoil. <br />
