Please see below our clarifications and responses to
your questions.
Proof of Publication /Delivery. The USPS Certified Return Receipt notices from landowners:
Kenny and Dana Smith, Mark Echeverria, Trevan and Nikki Pepper, and Eric and Tammy Daale
have been submitted to your office.
Exhibit B — Site Description. A NRCS soils and vegetation map of the proposed Pepper Pit
mining site has been submitted to your office to satisfy Exhibit B — Site Description.
Exhibit C — Mining Plan. It is Cooley's intentions to leave the earthmoving /processing
equipment on site at the Pepper Pit the duration of the mining process, with the exception of
the following possibilities: equipment is transported to Cooley's shop for maintenance and
repair, extended periods of adverse weather conditions, or the crushing /screening equipment
is needed at another permitted location /pit. All of the above are unforeseen, but possible
reasons the equipment would be removed from site.
There will be no fuel, oil, or other fluids stored on site at the Pepper Pit. All fuel is
transported daily to equipment with a portable fuel truck or fuel wagon. Grease and oil are
stored in a portable service truck, and taken to project as needed. Crushing and screening
equipment will be hauled to Cooley's shop for maintenance and repair. Minor repair, like
belt replacement, may be conducted in the field.
The approximate 9 acre site of the Pepper Pit has already been stripped to a depth of 8 -10 ".
The fill that was stripped has been stockpiled on the east side of the approximate 9 acre
corner. The fill that was stripped and stockpiled on site is proposed for reclamation.
