EXHIBIT B
SITE DESCRIPTION: The site is open rangeland approximately 6 miles west and 1
mile north of Hereford Colorado. The site is currently being dryland farmed in wheat
rotation. The site is generally flat with a small bluff dropping off on the western edge.
The mining area begins 1450 ft east of the southwest corner of section 22, T12N, R
63W, 6th PM in Weld County Colorado. The mining site begins 15 ft north of the south
section line and extends northwest on a heading of 334 degrees for 900' to the
northwest corner of the mining area. Then proceed east on a heading of 090 degrees
for a distance of 480 ft to the northeast corner of the mining area. Then proceed
southeast on a heading of 154 degrees for a distance of 900 ft to the southeast corner
of the mining area. Then proceed west on a heading of 270 degrees for a distance of
480 ft back to the southwest corner of the mining area. The soils in the mining area
consist of primarily of Peetz, gravelly sandy loam on the west edge and Ascalon sandy
loam on the east edge. The areas not farmed are covered in native range grasses and
the farmed areas are in wheat production. There are no permanent manmade structures
within 200 ft of the affected area. There are no water resources in the mining area or the
immediate vicinity. The nearest defined drainage is Porter Creek located approximately
1200 ft west of the mine site and about 50 ft lower in elevation. It is our opinion that
neither the surface or the groundwater systems will be directly affected by this mining
operation and that no discharge permits will be required.
