To: Cazier, Tim <br />Subject: Latest Update <br />Mr. Cazier - <br />I apparently need to work on my clarity of expression. <br />With regard to the Pennsylvania detail my point was that the default filter for riprapped spillways is geotextile. I also <br />wished to note that there was no slope restriction for that usage on that detai (there is a maximum slope for embankments <br />in the criteria of 3 :1). <br />My other point was that while the Pennsylvania detail has no erosion protection above or behind the earth dam cutoff, that <br />my intent was to extend the geotextile to the inside face of the berm. As exposure protection for the geotextile the design <br />would have 3 inches of 2 inch minus gravel. <br />Sincerely - <br />James Pierce, Jr. <br />
