EGETATION Vegetation Management, Inc.
"May all your Weeds be Wildflowers
MIANAGEMENT and all your Trees be Healthy"
i CORPORA1LD, P.O. Box 162 303.674.1215 (0)
Evergreen, CO. 80437 -0162 1.877.467.1215 (F)
www.vmiweedsandtrees.com calexdlind@comcast.net
specific summer growing /flowering plants) and fall. These treatment times
are effective due to the fact that a majority of plants are actively growing in
the spring and a large variety of weeds set rosettes in the fall for next
year's bloom. Certain weeds such as Yellow Toadflax (a deep rooted
perennial) are best treated during the months of August and /or September
when they are more easily visible due to blooming. Others such as
Scentless Chamomile are annuals which should be also be treated either
prior to or at the bloom stage which will also likely be in mid -late summer.
Based on the weeds found at the three areas and considering the COG -
GR location is above 8000' elevation (which generally causes plants to be
on a later schedule than at lower elevations) it is VMI's recommendation
that treatments at COG -GR be conducted in late spring /early summer with
a follow -up treatment sometime in August.
VMI conducts applications via broadcast and handgun spray, dragging
hose and backpack treatments all of which are very effective as evidenced
by before and after photos which VMI will take during treatments.
Herbicide will be applied in accordance with manufacturer's label instruc-
tions and specifications. VMI will comply with all requirements of the Pesti-
cide Applicator's Act (Sec.35- IO -IOI et seq. CRS) as well as with all federal,
state, and local rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to the work required.
It should be noted that noxious weeds grow at varying times throughout
the season and that VMI will be treating actively growing plants which will
have no affect on grasses and /or seeds. Weeds may germinate after
treatment which is the primary reason it is suggested that more than one
treatment be done annually. While weed reduction will likely be realized
throughout the years, it does not take long for weeds to regain control
quickly re- infesting lands. Thus a long term strategy is the most effective
method for continued control.
VMI takes great pride and attention to detail in the pursuit of weed control
and are confident that with our treatment efforts the COG -GR will be
pleased with the results.
2011 Scope of Work Page 3 City of Golden — Guanella Reservoir
