Weekly collection and
removal of leachate continued in 2011. Process pond information is provided on a
monthly basis.
6.0 Land Disturbance and Reclamation
6.1 Summary of 2011 Disturbance
NSI's disturbed acreage is based on the February 2009 and March 2010 bond calculations
from the DRMS and reflects the current bonded disturbance. Actual disturbance may be
Tess than what is bonded for. NSI posted bond for seven core holes in 2010, and only
drilled three. No new land was disturbed in 2011. Several pads were interim reclaimed,
and all drilling and workover operations were conducted on existing disturbance. Table 7
lists the bonded disturbed acreage as of December 2011.
Table 7: Disturbed Acreage
6.2 Regulatory Compliance
6.2.1 Regulatory Activity
In 2011, all required reports were submitted in a timely manner. The EPA approved the
DVPW and 12H permits. Amendment 03 to the DRMS permit M1983 -194 was
submitted and as of December 2011, was under review. All required forms were
submitted to the appropriate agencies regarding 2011 plugging and abandonment
operations. Work relating to the DRMS determination that NSI should be classified as a
DMO is ongoing.
Daub & Associates, Inc. 19 NSI Annual Report 2010
