The Larkin and Blue Stone ditches will remain in place. If the applicant/operator
wants to relocate the ditches and can locate the ditch companies, documentation
of an agreement will be provided to the Division.
12. The Mine Plan does not specify where topsoil locations are to be located. Please
provide a revised Mine Plan map that clearly identifies the location of the topsoil
stockpiles.
The berms on the eastern side of the permit area are topsoil stockpiles. Exhibit
C -2, Mine Plan Map, has been revised to label the topsoil stockpiles.
13. The Reclamation Map indicates that a groundwater lake will exist in Phase 3.
Phase 1 and Phase 2 are displayed at the original surface elevation of 4,880
feet. Please specify what methods of reclamation will occur to achieve the
reclamation proposed. Also provide a figure of the required backfill material
needed to achieve the conditions displayed on Exhibit F.
Reclamation will occur in all disturbed areas above the water level of the lake
that will remain after mining in the southern part of the permit area. The northern
part of the permit area will be backfilled with overburden and process waste. The
volume of material required for backfilling is approximately 750,000 cubic yards.
Following the backfilling areas to be reclaimed will be graded and 6 " -12" of
topsoil will be placed on the graded areas. Exhibit E, Reclamation Plan,
discusses in detail information on seeding, seed mix, fertilization, mowing and
other reclamation methods.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Paul Banks
Attachments
