• As allowed by the Army Corp. of Engineers the flood control berm along the
river on the east side of the property will be allowed to stay as is, with the
exception of removal of dead trees that are scattered around the area. We
will also clean up the profile of the berm in places where equipment has
moved material. Also we are creating a River access point at the North -east
corner of the property.
• As required by the plan we will address, the REC concerns from the EAS.
We will be hauling off all of the household waste to the land fill. The shed by
the lake will be removed and the pump and electrical equipment will be
salvaged for other uses. Area will be cleaned and reclaimed. As for the white
material that is Alkali and is a natural occurring process for the soil
conditions and will be addressed by putting compost on it to absorb and
neutralize. As a natural occurrence in our area, it is considered a non
hazardous material.
The total project is scheduled to be completed in 5 years, as budget and man power
allows. Enclosed you will find a map depicting the purposed location of roads, trails,
picnic areas, future play ground and parking areas. The map also will show the
location of the waste piles to be removed. Also included is the original reclamation
plan. The exact locations are not to scale.
Respectfully,
Paul D. Suppes, Parks Director
City of Delta Co.
970 -874 -7973
