5. PROJECT DESCRIPTION, Item III.6.J. The information provided here is inadequate. <br />The applicant must: <br />a. provide the distance to the nearest stream. Mosquito Creek is 325 feet from the <br />London Butte adit portal. <br />b. provide any available information pertaining to depth of ground water and <br />expected dewatering requirements for the proposed work on the lower levels. If <br />ground water level information is not available, then the applicant must commit to <br />logging the depth of ground water interception in all drillholes approved and <br />drilled under this NOI. Groundwater data will be logged as part of this NOI. <br />c. provide information pertaining to the discharge permit, including permit number, <br />effluent limitations, and discharge rates and how the existing permit will apply to <br />the newly proposed dewatering wells, and whether the dewatering well effluent <br />will be treated before discharge. The groundwater wells will be pumped into <br />the existing pond shown on the map. The discharge for this pond is covered <br />under NPDES Discharge Permit CO- 0038334. <br />d. commit to water quality sampling of the dewatering well effluent to ascertain the <br />extent of treatment needed. Groundwater will be sampled for quality testing. <br />e. Provide the proposed plan for disposal of dewatering effluent. Any water from <br />dewatering will be pumped into the existing sediment pond north of <br />Mosquito Creek. <br />f. provide information pertaining to the existing water rights referred to in this <br />section. Water Right #2301085 <br />6. PROJECT DESCRIPTION, Item III.6.J. The applicant must commit to ceasing work and <br />notifying DRMS immediately if any activity in the underground results in a water <br />discharge to surface of any quantity or quality. <br />Alma Placer will cease any and all work in the London Butte and notify DRMS <br />immediately if any activity underground results in a water discharge to the surface that is <br />not covered by this NOI. <br />7. OPERATIONAL AND RECLAMATION MEASURES, Item IV.4. Rule 5.4 requires <br />drill holes to be plugged and abandoned in a timely manner. Please provide an estimated <br />time frame for plugging and abandonment of drill holes. <br />All surface drillholes will be plugged within 30 days of completion of exploration activity, <br />weather permitting. <br />8. SIGNATURE REQUIREMENT, Item VIII. Mr. John Deagan of Park County stated that <br />no copy of the application had been received by Park County. As required by Rule <br />5.1.2(m), please submit verification that a copy of the Prospecting NOI was submitted to <br />the Park County Board of Commissioners. <br />A copy of the application, including this response letter, has been sent to the Park County <br />BOCC. Attached is a copy of the Certified Mail showing this has taken place. <br />
