There is an existing truck dump station with a 75-ton capacity steel hopper. .
A welded grizzly with 12-inch openings is located above the hopper. A 36-
inch belt conveyor used to convey coal from hopper reclaim tunnel to the
crusher building. Both the truck dump station and 36-inch wide belt conveyor
will be retained as part of the TR-06 modifications.
The existing crusher building contains a single-roll crusher. It is a
flexible-toothed, hammermill type crusher, driven by an electric motor with
fluid coupling drive. The crusher will be removed from the building as part
of the TR-06 modifications.
There is a conical storage pile, with a conical stake tube immediately to the
east of the crusher building. Coal is conveyed from the crusher to the
storage pile by an existing 36-inch wide belt conveyor. Coal is reclaimed
from storage by four, existing vibratory feeders located beneath the storage
pile in a concrete reclaim tunnel. A 60-inch wide reclaim belt conveyor
(located in the reclaim tunnel) receives coal from the feeders and discharges
to a second 60-inch wide belt conveyor for elevating the coal to the top of
the existing train loadout structure. The 36-inch belt conveyor, as well as
the conical storage pile, the steel stack tube and stack tube reclaim pile
will be demolished as part of the TR-06 modifications.
There is an emergency coal storage area adjacent to the truck dump area (see
Exhibit 12-2 [Revision 5, dated 8/99]). It is anticipated this storage area
will not be needed with the TR-06 modifications.
Coal transported to the top of the unit train loadout structure is discharged
into a surge bin. Continuous coal sampling is provided by an ASTM sampling
system as coal is discharged from the 60-inch wide elevating belt conveyor.
The surge bin has a four-foot square, air operated guillotine gate installed
horizontally at the bin discharge opening. A telescoping loading chute is
provided for uniform loading of train cars and is installed independently and
below the guillotine gate.
Operation of the existing coal handling equipment is controlled from an
operation cab located at the train loadout structure.
`.J
TR-07 6 Revised 06/06
