The Division has identified several other comments and questions that must be addressed prior to
the Division's decision due date. Please be advised that if you are unable to satisfactorily
address any concerns identified in this review before the decision date, it will be your
responsibility to request an extension of the review period. If there are outstanding issues
that have not been adequately addressed prior to the end of the review period, and no
extension has been requested, the Division will deny this application.

1. The Applicant has provided the Division with a cost estimate for closure of the Cross Mine
Decline Portal and the Cross Mine Portal. Please provide the Division with the dimensions of
the openings of the above referenced portals, so that we may calculate the costs for this type
of closure.
2. The Applicant has provided the Division with a cost estimate for closure of the ventilation
shaft and the secondary escape -way. Please provide the Division with the dimensions of the
openings of the above referenced shafts, so that we may calculate the costs for this type of
closure.
3. The Applicant has requested Ponds #1 and #2 remain on site following reclamation. The
Applicant has also asserted mine drainage will not occur following reclamation and has
committed to providing plug design specifications and an associated financial warranty in a
subsequent revision to the Reclamation Permit. Therefore, the Division must bond for the
removal and disposal of the liners in both of the ponds, as well as backfilling, topsoil
replacement and seeding costs. Please provide the Division with the approximate volume of
material required to backfill the ponds and indicate where the material will come from.
