RPM, Inc. <br />6.3.3 Exhibit C — Mining Plan: <br />2. The Applicant has stated a complete surface and groundwater monitoring program will <br />be submitted as part of a future permit revision. (a) Please specify when the Applicant <br />anticipates submitting the revision addressing surface and groundwater monitoring. (b) Also, <br />indicate how many quarters of water quality data have been collected to date. <br />(a) This item will be address in a permit revision which we plan to submit soon after this <br />Amendment Application is approved and will include Cross Mine water quality data. <br />(b) To date, we have three quarters of ground water data for 2011 which have been sampled <br />and results tabulated. We took the fourth quarter in December and includes our first surface <br />water quality samples. The ground water sample points are the ground water wells DRMS staff <br />reviewed during a past site inspection. The surface water sample points are where Coon Track <br />Creek enters the proposed 9.35 acres permit area and exits the proposed permit area. <br />3. The Applicant has stated two septic tanks /fields will be installed at the site. Please <br />clarify if there are any surface features associated with the septic systems which will need to be <br />reclaimed. <br />There are no significant surface features associated the septic tanks /fields. Only one new septic <br />tank and leach field will be installed at the site. The Caribou septic tank and leach field are <br />existing (historic) features. <br />There are no surface features associated with the septic tanks /fields. <br />4. The Applicant has stated the waste rock from the development of the new Cross Mine <br />Decline Portal will be made available to Boulder County. The approved Mining Plan states <br />waste rockfrom future development will be utilized as stope -fill in the Mine. Please clam if <br />waste rockfrom development will still be utilized as stope -fill in the Mine. <br />Under the present Permit Amendment Application and Mine Plan, waste rock generated from the <br />construction of the Cross Mine Decline Portal will be stockpiled on the surface. Its intended use <br />will be to backfill pond #1 and used for construction of the extended access road. Both of these <br />activities (reclamation of pond #1 and extension of the access road) will be submitted for review <br />and approval in a subsequently planned permit revision, following approval of this Permit <br />Amendment. However, in the event the excess waste rock cannot be used on site, given away or <br />sold, the excess waste rock stockpile will be reclaimed as specified in our reclamation plan. <br />5.
