Binns, Janet
From: Binns, Janet
Sent: Tuesday, December 20, 2011 9:33 AM S ,
To: 'W D Corley, Jr.' 9 I ! C l ) °t" -,
Subject: RE: Subsidence features
Hello Dr. Corley,
I will contact you next week regarding meeting with you in early January. I did conduct differential correction on my GPS
data. I used CORS, FreemontAPCO2004 (P037), Colorado.
I will need to research the files regarding which monitoring holes, and drillholes Southfield has sealed in accordance with
Rule 4.07.3. You are correct that all holes not converted to permanent water wells must be sealed. You have noted that
Drill hole SF- 87 -07, remains open. There are 4 approved monitoring wells that remain until such time that the Division
approves Energy Fuels to seal them, usually around the time the permittee requests final bond release: MW16, MW -23,
MW65, and MW -NW (located — 800 feet east of SF- 87 -07). George sampled the monitoring wells on 12/8/2011. MW-
NW was dry at that time. This is the closest monitoring hole to the subsidence features.
Javuer H. Having some snow on the ground
may be quite informative with regard to the repairs that George performed on the cracks because I believe that warm air is
still escaping from the holes they were not able to seal.
My question about the post processing refers to the method of differential correction of the data to perhaps a CORS
station or by use of the NGS OPUS or even with the use of some beacon.
My other question about the status of the Southfield exploratory drill holes concerns plugging, reclamation, marking, and
bond release of all of their holes except the remaining water quality monitoring holes. I asked George this question and
he said that all of the holes except the four monitoring wells might be part of the overall permit bond, but I still don't know if
4.07.3(2) and (3) have been done.
WD Corley, Jr.
- -- On Tue, 12/20/11, Binns, Janet <JanetBinns @state.co.us> wrote:
From: Binns, Janet <Janet.Binns @state.co.us>
Subject: Subsidence features
To: 'W D Corley, Jr." <ajjc @att.net>
Date: Tuesday, December 20, 2011, 8:39 AM
Good Morning Dr. Corley,
1
