December 12, 2011 C -1981 -010 /Trapper Mine JLE <br />Middle Flume pond No. 3 was observed, it appeared to be holding water and the embankment was stable <br />East Middle Flume pond was receiving water that is being pump from the East A pit. This pond was discharging <br />clear water. Several maintenance items was noted at this pond. A thick mass of grass has established upstream of <br />the flume that needs to be cutback. A small erosion gully was observed on the western pond slope that must be <br />repaired. <br />Horse pond #I and Wcst Horsc pond were stable and the embankments were vegetated. <br />Johnson Gulch l OR pond was discharging clear water and the embankment was stable and vegetated. <br />GENERAL MIME PLAN COMPLANCE <br />At the northern end of the D pit, the drill hole and pad construction is ongoing for the carbon sequestration project. <br />Ash is continuing to be backfilled into the Ash pit. Spoil material from the excavation at the K pit is being used to <br />backfiil the F pit. The Molly Brown drag line was mining the M seam of the K. pit and a truck loader team was <br />mining a seam above the M seam. The Baby Doe dragline was working in the Z -Dip pit and the Queen Anne was <br />down for maintenance. <br />ROADS <br />Many roads were observed during the inspection, including the old BC Road, the Life of Mine Road, the D pit <br />Road, West Ash pit Road, K 1 Road, the North AE Road and the Mid AE Road. All active haul roads were stable <br />and were functioning as permitted at the time of the inspection. Many of the access roads were observed while <br />inspecting the ponds. No problems were observed. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES <br />The East Panel Ready Line, the ANFO truck storage ( "The Blast Hole ") were inspected and no problems were <br />observed. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS <br />The mine ID and blasting signs at the main mine entrance were found to be in compliance. <br />Perimeter markers were observed in three locations: below the Pyeatt ponds, below East Middle Flume ponds, and <br />west Horse Gulch pond. No compliance issues were observed. <br />Topsoil markers were observed for several piles; all were found to be in compliance. <br />TOPSOIL <br />Many topsoil stockpiles were observed during; the inspection. The majority of the ground was covered with snow; <br />however all of the piles observed appeared to have vegetation established and the appropriate signage. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2 <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />
