5.3 Seed Mix Information <br />Seed Mix #7 contains alfalfa forthe Irrigated Cropland. Triticale is included as a companion winter <br />annual grain when the seed mix is planted. This is based on both NRCS recommendations and <br />landowner desires. This mix is to be applied to all Irrigated Croplands in August of Years 1 and <br />6. Initial seeding of the green manure crop occurs in April of Year 1. All seed mixes are described <br />in this subsection. Seeding time frames are discussed in subsection 5.7.1. <br />Green Manure Crop Mix <br />Oats at the rate of 75 Ibs per acre <br />Yellow Sweet Clover at the rate of 2 Ibs /acre <br />Seed Mix #2 is used at the start of Year 6 to allow renovation of any alfalfa planted field in the fall <br />of Year 6. <br />Annual Small Grain (ASG) Seed Mix - Year 6 ONLY <br />Note: Any one, and only one of the 3 species can be planted at the rate shown. <br />Species Common Name Seeding Rate <br />1. Spring Barley` 75 Ibs /acre <br />2. Spring Wheat' 75 Ibs /acre <br />3.
