areas and the reference area at the following rates annually: <br />Nitrogen: 60 Ibs /acre <br />Phosphorus: 20 Ibs /acre <br />These rates are those recommended by the local NRCS office in Norwood, CO. <br />4.6.2 Grazing and Having Plan <br />Grazing of the Reclaimed Irrigated Pastureland will not be considered during the first growing <br />season in order to reduce trampling and pulling of the plants by livestock. If significant growth <br />needs to be removed during the first season, mechanical harvesting will be used. Grazingwill only <br />be applied to the Reclaimed Irrigated Pastureland areas after the first growing season. Following <br />the first season, grazing and /or mechanical harvesting will be used as part of the management <br />of the Reclaimed Irrigated Pastureland areas. Harvested hay will be removed from the fields as <br />rapidly as hay quality and weather conditions permit. <br />Grazing management will be coordinated with the owner of the herd that is contracted to graze <br />the reclaimed and /or reference areas. Length of the grazing period and intensity of the grazing <br />activity (number of animals over a given area) will be determined based on previous successful <br />grazing practices on irrigated pastureland areas on the New Horizon permit area. <br />Grazing and/or haying practiced on the reclaimed irrigated pasture areas will be duplicated on the <br />irrigated pasture reference area as described in the Reference Area Management portion of <br />subsection 4.5.2 of this Section. <br />During years in which sampling is conducted for bond release application, grazing and /or haying <br />will be deferred until after the sampling is completed on both reclaimed and reference IP areas. <br />As shown in the October 17, 2007 NRCS letter in Attachment 2.05.4(2)(e) -11, interseeding is <br />allowed in Reclaimed Irrigated Pastureland as a normal husbandry practice. This may be utilized <br />during the first six years of the liability period.
