Site Visit — August 3` 2011
ARCADIS conducted a site visit to confirm the drilling locations, perform utility
clearance, and to collect samples to establish health and safety protocols during field
work.
Piezometer locations IC -10300 and IC -10370 were photographed during the site visit,
prior to their replacement as presented in Appendix A.
The existing locations had sufficient access to allow drill rig- access, however minor
grading and surface leveling was required to allow access for drilling and well
abandonment. The drilling rig and support trucks required a drilling pad approximately
40 feet (ft) wide by 120 ft long. The existing locations had space on the benches for
the long axis of the drilling pad. At IC- 10300, the bench was widened from 23 ft to
approximately 35 ft to accommodate drilling. HMC -Pitch agreed to perform site
preparation using a back -hoe. The bench located at IC -10370 had more available drill
pad space, and minor grading was performed at that location. No vegetation existed at
the drilling locations that would inhibit drilling access, and /or require clearance prior to
drilling and abandonment activities.
A utility clearance was performed at the site with three lines of confirmation:
• HMC -Pitch confirmed that there was no live power, sewer, communications,
natural gas, or other utilities onsite anywhere.
• Visual inspection of the site grounds revealed no junction boxes, lateral access
covers, signage, and /or overhead power lines.
• Drilling locations were explored by ARCADIS to a depth of several feet using a
shovel. The nature of the material (waste rock) prevented digging deeper.
Excavations confirmed that there were no utilities at either proposed drilling
location.
Radiologic Screening
Because the property is a former uranium mine, ARCADIS performed radiological
screening during the site visit to assess exposure levels that might be encountered
during drilling.
