Table C and Appendix B provides the dimensions
and details of well construction. Both piezometers were completed with an 8 inch
interior diameter steel stick up and well cover. A 3 ft by 3 ft concrete well apron
secures the stick -up pipe.
All borehole drilling was completed by the Driller using a Speedstar 50k drill rig fitted
with an Air Rotary Casing Hammer (ARCH). A STRATEX under - reaming drill bit was
used to facilitate casing advancement. Compressed air was utilized to return cuttings
to a cuttings cyclone. Cuttings were logged at regular intervals from the cyclone
(Appendix B). Due to the depth, gravel grain -size, and unconsolidated nature of
material drilled through, water injection was employed at depth in order to facilitate
cuttings return in both boreholes. Drill stem pipe and casing typically consisted of 20-
foot sections. Drilling times and drilling details are provided in Appendix B.
IC- 10300R
IC- 10300R is located approximately 30 feet to the west of the former location of IC-
10300. The borehole was spudded on August 25 2011. Drilling progressed regularly
through predominately silty, gravelly, and boulder -sized waste rock material.
Compressed air was used until a depth of 178 ft bgs, at lower depths, water injection
was employed to remove gavel from the casing and to ensure good return of cuttings.
Pitch Reclamation Project -
Piezometer Replacement
Field Activities Report
g:raproject \barriddao000102.0001 pitch reclamation project'ao102, banick- pitch\piezo replacement repoitingldraftV ar_ pilch_piezo_replacement_pdd.doc 6
