spread should be stopped, and List C plants are selected for recommended control method. A list
of prominent weeds at the Site includes:
Salt cedar (Tamarix ramosissima)
Musk thistle (Carduus nutans)
Diffuse knapweed (Centaurea diffusa)
Kochia (Kochi scoparia)
Based on observations during the site visit by LTE and Carma Bayshore on September 27, 2011,
and the photographs attached to the CDRMS inspection report dated July 19, 2011, it appears
musk thistle was mistakenly identified as Canada thistle by the CDRMS. LTE observed musk
thistle at the Site, but did not observe Canada thistle.
Carma Bayshore has given high priority to controlling and eventually eradicating noxious weeds
from the Site. Therefore, Carma Bayshore retained Nitro -Green to complete the following weed
management activities during October 2010 and again September- October 2011:
• Habitat was sprayed on the foliage of all salt cedar plants not located in the lakes;
• Milestone was sprayed selectively on all diffuse knapweed and musk thistle plants and
rosettes; and
• Nitro -Green has cut off the top of all salt cedar plants in the lakes at approximately 8
inches below the water surface with all cut foliage being chipped and hauled to an off-site
municipal solid waste facility.
LTE has prepared a Technical Revision to the approved plan and attached a weed management
plan for the Site in Attachment A. The Technical Revision fee of $216.00 is included with the
Technical Revision.
Problem 4: Sediment Control
"Erosion gullies and ruts were observed on -site. This is a problem at this time for failure to
protect the affected land from erosion pursuant to C.R.S. 34- 32.5 -1 16 (4) (j)."
CDRMS Recommended Corrective Action
Colorado State List B
Colorado State List B
Colorado State List B
Not listed
Cunningham, M.
Page 4
"The Operator shall provide photo documentation to the Division verifying erosion gullies and
ruts have been repaired, and that the site has been reconstructed and stabilized to prevent erosion
damage by the corrective action date."
Response
Carma Bayshore has addressed this concern by filling in and grading the erosion gullies and ruts
during September 2011. Additionally, an approximate 180- lineal foot turf reinforcement mat
(TRM) rundown was installed as runoff control to prevent future slope erosion. The graded area
was then seeded with a seed mix including 20% mountain brome grass, bromar; 15% hard
