of their Bayshore community. Therefore, Carma Bayshore proposes and requests approval of the
following grass seed mix for the areas in need of revegetation:
Buffalograss (Buchloe dactyloides) 65% 10.5 lbs PLS /Ac
Blue grama (Bouteloua gracilis) 20% 2.4 lbs PLS /Ac
Smooth brome (Bromus inermis) 15% 1.5 lbs PLS /Ac
At Carma Bayshore's discretion, additional aesthetically pleasing plants including, but not
limited to white yarrow (Achillea lanulosa), Tansy aster (Machaeranthera canescens), tufted
evening primrose (oenothera caespitosa), wild verbena (Glandularia (verbena) bipinnatifida),
and yellow evening primrose (Calylophus lavandulifolius; C. serrulatu.$) may be included in the
seed mix. If seeds are not available for a particular plant, then a similar alternate plant will be
utilized, or that portion will be distributed to the other recommended seeds. No noxious or
invasive weeds will be used in any revegetative efforts at the Site.
Carma Bayshore acknowledges there are portions of the Site where the vegetation has not been
established to meet the requirements of the Rule. In accordance with good range management
practices, Carma Bayshore proposes to address the revegetation issue coincidentally with the
weed issue at the Site, since in reality these issues cannot be separated. Please see the response
to Problem 3 below for more information.
Problem 3: Reve2etation
Cunningham, M.
Page 3
"There are state - listed noxious weeds present on site. This is a problem for failure to employ
weed control methods for state listed noxious weed species within the permitted area, and to
reduce the spread of weeds to nearby areas as required by Section 3.1.10 (6) of the rule."
CDRMS Recommended Corrective Action
"Implement approved weed control plan and provide proof to the Division that this has been
done. If a weed control plan is not already in place, the Operator shall develop a weed control
and management plan in accordance with Section 3.1.10 (6) of the Rule. This plan should be
developed in consultation with the county extension agency, or weed control district office and
should include specific control measures to be applied, a schedule for when control measures
will be applied and a post- treatment monitoring plan. This weed control plan shall be submitted
to the Division as a Technical Revision to the approved plan with the appropriate Technical
Revision fee of $216.00 by the corrective action date."
Response
There are a variety of weeds present at the Site including some that are listed in the Colorado
Noxious Weed Act (35 -5.5 -1201 -119 C.R.S.) The CNWA categorizes noxious weeds into three lists: A, B, and C.
List A plants are designated for elimination on all lands, List B includes plants whose continued
