Chevron has obtained water rights to store the permanent <br />pool water in all three ponds., <br />e.. • The sizes of the Moffat, Center Ridge, and West Ridge <br />ponds were adequate for recreational, livestock, and <br />wildlife use [Rule 4.05.9(13)(e)]. <br />Retention 'of the Moffat, Center Ridge, and West Ridge <br />:ponds was suitable for the approved post mining land use <br />of rangeland and wildlife habitat [Rule 4.05.9(13)(f)]. <br />Surface and Ground Water Monitoring <br />1. The applicant conducted monitoring of ground water in a manner <br />approved by the Division. Cessation of groundwater monitoring <br />was granted by the Division with approval of TR -48 August 20, <br />2009. Groundwater wells were sealed in accordance with Rule <br />4.07.3, and well abandonment reports were provided to the <br />Division with MR -50, approved January 25, 2007. <br />2. The applicant conducted monitoring of surface water in a manner <br />approved by the Division. Cessation of upstream and downstream <br />surface water monitoring was granted by the Division with <br />approval of TR -48 (August 20, 2009). Chevron Mining, Inc. <br />continues to monitor discharges from the Moffat Pond, Center <br />Ridge Pond, and West Ridge Pond in accordance with Colorado <br />Department of Public Health and Environment permit no. CO- <br />0032638. <br />C1980-001 Edna Mine Permit Renewal No. 6 22 <br />3. Springs and seeps are inventoried annually, and are reported in the <br />Annual Hydrology Report. A sample is collected at any spring <br />exhibiting flow in excess of 20 gallons per minute (gpm), and the <br />,sample is analyzed for the same partial list of parameters as surface <br />water samples. Chevron Mining Inc. conducted water quality <br />sampling on 3 spoil springs and one seep in 2010 and reported the <br />results in the 2010 Annual Hydrology Report. These three springs <br />were .SPR- 1, -SPR3, and SPR -11.. The seep was SE -23. <br />
