the map acreage is correct, and that the area described in the text as "GL -REC" should
actually be "PL -REC ", as shown on the map, the GL -REC paragraph will be moved to this
section, and the proportional acreages for each subcategory of Pastureland will need to be
recalculated.
Response —As are documented on revised Map 2.04.3 -1, Land Use Map, the
Pastureland land use category consists of three different land use subcategories,
corresponding to the PLI, 56.63 acres, PLD consisting of 44.49 acres and PL IMIP
consisting of 37.11 acres, which total 138.23 acres, which is the exact acreage figure
found in on page 5 of Section 2.04.3 of the PAP. The area of 208.23 acres originally
found on Map 2.04.3 -1, Land Use Map was incorrect and has been corrected. Since
the narrative correctly addressed these issues, there is no need to revise the acreage
percentages in the text.
15. Table 2.04.3 -1 on page 8 of Section 2.04.3 provides information on NRCS Land Capability
and Yields per Acre for various soil map units and crops. Please insert a column to the right
of the Soils Map Unit column which gives the name (Aquolls, Nyswonger, and Progresso)
for each of the three units listed.
Response — Table 2.04.3 -1 has been revised as requested.
16. In Table 2.04.3 -1, a Grass Hay yield of 4.5 tons /acre is given for map units 10 and 81 & 82.
The footnote indicates that this is for non - irrigated conditions, which seems unlikely. Please
review the available NRCS information, to verify this value, or revise as appropriate.
Response — According to the on -line edition of the "Soil Survey of San Miguel Area,
Colorado - Parts of Dolores, Montrose, and San Miguel Counties" page 206 of this
document states that the average Grass Hay production for Soils Unit 10 under non -
irrigated conditions is 4.5 tons per acre, while page 211 states that the average Grass
Hay production for Soils Units 81 and 82 under irrigated conditions for is 4.5 tons
per acre.
The location of the * found on PAP page 8, of Table 2.04.3 -1, NRCS Land Capability
& Yields Per Acre of Crops and Pasture, is incorrect and should be placed
immediately after the 4.5 tons /ac figure corresponding to Soils Map Unit 10. This
change will be made to the narrative.
17. Table 2.04.3 -3, Montrose County Assessor's Abstract Codes, is split between two pages (10
and 11) in the PAP. Please ensure that the entire table appears on one page, or repeat the
column headings on the second page.
Response — Table 2.04.3 -3 now appears in page 11 in its entirety.
18. In the first paragraph of the Previously Mined Lands subsection of Section 2.04.3 (pages 11
and 12), the Navajo Mine is described as having been located to the east of County Road
Page 5
