SAND & GRAVEL PRODUCTS
Phone 242 -7537
November 23, 2011
v,555
WHITEWATER BUILDING MATERIALS CORPORATION
Travis Marshall
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
101 S. 3 Street
Grand Junction, Co 81501
940 South 10th Street, P.O. Box 1769
GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO 87502
J
Re: Whitewater permit M- 1977 -129 / T LJ
Travis,
I
NOV 2 3 2011
GRAND JUNCTION 1-1L-ID OFFICE
DIVISION OF
RECLAMATION MINING & SAFETY
Whitewater is requesting a Technical Revision to the above permit. This revision is to
address issues in your inspection report of June 2, 2011, recommendation from our
meeting September 1, 2011 and more.
READY MIXED CONCRETE
Phone 242 -4843
Stage 2 B:
This property is owned by James McCurter. Mr. McCurter has installed 2 inlet
pipes on the property that allow his East Creek Water to be diverted into the lake
and an outlet pipe. The inlets are a 10" and a 24" corrugated pipe and fed thru
open ditch. Both inlets have an area approximately 10 feet on both sides of the
pipe that will not be vegetated per land owner request. The outlet is a 24"
corrugated pipe. See exhibit A. His diversion of water into the lake has caused a
fluctuation in the lake level on an area around the lake that is void of vegetation.
Mr. McCurter desires to operate his lake in this manner as stated in his August 15,
2011 letter. As such Whitewater requests a change to the reclamation plan for this
lake area to leave an un- vegetated area around the lake of approximately 6 feet
above natural lake level. See exhibit A.
Stage 2 A:
This property is owned primarily by Shawn Ridgley with a small portion owned
by us. Mr. Ridgley purchased the property this summer as a lake to water ski on.
He has added a volleyball court to the property adjacent to the building site in the
southwest corner of the lake, see exhibit A. Also shown on exhibit A is an area
adjacent the other building site on the northwest corner of the lake to be left
unseeded as a future bike track per Mr. Ridgley's attached letter. This area will
not be planted and will be disked annually to control weeds until Whitewater is
