2) Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL)
GCL was placed at the southwest toe of the PSES access road to stop any infiltration of water
through the fill. Fine material was placed in the area to receive GCL and finished using the
bucket of a CAT 312 excavator, a plate compactor, and laborers. The subgrade was inspected
and approved for GCL deployment by an AMEC field representative. Approximately 1,800
square feet of GCL was deployed. The GCL was then covered with 6" of fine material using
the CAT 312 excavator.
3) Geotextile/Rip - rap
10 oz /yd non -woven geotextile was placed in the basin using a CAT,312 excavator and
laborers. Rip -rap was then placed over the geotextile using a CAT 312 excavator. Installation
of the sediment basin and culvert is complete.
CQA ACTIVITIES:
SUMMARY:
The CQA activities performed consisted of observing, documenting and recording the construction
activities of the contractor.
AMEC observed the structural fill placement. Ambient and fill temperatures were monitored during fill
placement.
AMEC observed construction of the sediment basin and culvert. This included fine grading, GCL
placement, geotextile placement, and rip -rap placement.
Testing Summary
Laboratory testing continued (Particle Size Distribution, Atterberg Limits, Moisture - Density Relations,
Specific Gravity, Permeability, and Point Load testing) for sampled materials.
GENERAL PROJECT ITEMS
Summary of Concerns:
No concerns
Summary of Planning Items:
Continue structural fill placement
Summary of Non - conformances:
None Issued
ame
PSES Weekly Report WE 11.05.2011
