November 15, 2011 C- 1981 - 010 /Trapper Mine RDZ <br />observed. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br />On the areas that were inspected from the roads and from walking, no erosion problems were observed. <br />Rills were not observed on the reclaimed slope north of the Ash Pit (as they have been in the past). <br />At the north end of the F Pit reclamation area, ditch improvements have been made to address concerns from <br />previous inspections. <br />SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12: <br />The slumped area above the D/E Pit (which had been in SL -11) still contains significant escarpments (at <br />least 4 feet high). <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />The support facilities inspected were: the East Panel Ready Line, facilities along the B/C road, and the <br />shop /office area. No problems were observed. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02: <br />The mine ID and blasting signs at the main mine entrance were found to be in compliance. The mine <br />identification sign at the west boundary was missing; it needs to be determined if this sign is necessary. <br />Perimeter boundary markers were observed near the East Pyeatt drainage, along the west boundary- (one has been <br />added since October), and along the entrance road. No compliance issues were identified. <br />TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06 Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; <br />Redistribution 4.06.4: <br />Topsoil stripping was not occurring at Trapper Mine during the inspection. <br />During the inspection, DRMS inspectors dug 21 topsoil test holes in the 2011 topsoil laydown area (which will <br />possibly be designated F -AB -11 in the future). All 21 of the holes indicated that the topsoil in this area is at least <br />10 inches deep. <br />The following topsoil piles were inspected: WC -1, A764, MH -1, MH -2, A88 -1, A93 -1, H93 -3, A92 -2, A96 -1, <br />and Z1 -09. <br />Animal burrows were found on MH -2 and should be filled. <br />Grading and seeding is needed at pile H93 -3 (if the topsoil is not used soon). <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2 <br />Page 5 of 18 <br />
