The Hawk's Nest Mine is a
revoked mine site that was reclaimed with the forfeited bond money. Due to the fact that this mine is a revoked
site,the inspection frequency was reduced to four quarterly inspections per year. Three of the quarterly inspections
are partial and one is a complete. There are no mine records to check. The reclaimed mine site is divided into the
east and west sections.
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION—Rule 4.17:
No problems with fugitive dust were observed at the disturbed areas. The vegetative cover has contributed
to dust prevention. The county road has also been maintained well enough to minimize any dust.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS— Rule 5.02.4(1):
There are no mine records to examine since this is a revoked mine site.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,
4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water
Monitoring 4.05.13, Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13, Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8;
Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
The easternmost road culvert at the East Mine area was functional, although a large,dense bush has grown
right at the outlet of the culvert. The road culvert to the west is not functional since debris from the slump north of
the county road has blocked the culvert inlet. The riprapped channels below each road culvert are functional,
however. The riverside berm was up along the East Mine yard area,along the river.
The sediment pond at the West Mine silo area was dry. The pond embankment had a good grass cover and the
open channel spillway was not blocked. The cap was on the pvc pipe groundwater well on the west end of the silo
area.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 2 of 4
