main drift, Yellow Rose drift, and Atlas discharge from ditch to Sneffels Creek. More detailed
location descriptions are required. If other sites are to be considered, please provide the
necessary information for those.
2. State what parameters will be analyzed, and down to what detection levels.
3. Commit to timely sampling and prompt notification to the Division of sample results.
4. Affirm that the sampling will continue for at least five quarters, as much as practicable for the
site. After the initial five quarters, you may propose to reduce the set of parameters analyzed
and/or the sampling frequency.
Since the upland drilling portion of the project is not expected to affect the water quality, that part may
begin upon notification of acceptance of the bond and approval of the NOI. However, due to the existing
portal discharge and potential to affect water quality through underground prospecting activities, no
underground prospecting activity is approved to commence until the initial five quarters have been
received by the Division.
Please respond to me at your earliest convenience, regarding the bond amount or project requirements.
As always, two complete sets of documents are required in your submittals. I can be reached at the
Division's Durango Field Office: 691 CR 233, Room A -2, Durango, CO 81301; telephone 970 - 247 -5193.
Sincerely,
j e,,,,()
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
Cc: Greg Lewicki, Greg Lewicki and Associates, 11541 Warrington Ct., Parker, CO 80138
Ec: Steve Shuey, DBMS Grand Junction
Barbara Coria, DRMS Denver
(c: \11 -11 docs\Revenue NOI WQ &FW /rco)
