Hickenlooper
Governor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta E. Pineda
Director
Re: Revenue Mine Exploration, NOI No. P- 2011 -030, Technical Issues are Addressed, Reclamation
Cost Estimate, Financial Warranty Required.
The technical issues related to the Revenue Mine Exploration NOI have been addressed adequately, and
the reclamation costs have been estimated. Please see the enclosed packet of reclamation costs, and
notify me promptly if you see any errors or omissions. The total required bond that was estimated for the
project is $12,223.
Financial Warranty (Bond)
A preliminary bond has already been provided in the amount of $8,796. Therefore the additional amount
that must now be provided is $3,427. This additional amount must be submitted on one of the approved
bond forms, which can be found on the Division's website: www.mining.state.co.us /. It must be properly
completed and delivered to Barbara Coria at the Division's Denver office (see letterhead address, above).
You may contact her if you have any questions about the bond form. Please be reminded that no
prospecting activity may commence until you have been notified that the full required bond amount has
been accepted by the Division.
Prospecting Activity and Hydrology
The NOI project involves two separate areas of activity: surface drilling from numerous upland locations
and the underground sampling (plus necessary rehab). Given that there is an ongoing historic discharge
from the Revenue Mine portal of water that originates in the mine, and that there will be underground
activity, water sampling to establish a baseline is required. The required water quality sampling program
has been discussed with your technical consultant, Greg Lewicki. It was mutually agreed that there will
be a series of sampling locations and samples to be collected required, to define the prevailing hydrologic
conditions of the site, in order and to determine whether there are future adverse impacts due to the
project.
These are the future requirements and conditions for the project:
1. Describe the water sampling locations, in a short narrative and on a site map. The sampling sites
that were discussed with Mr. Lewicki and appear acceptable to the Division include Sneffels
Creek upstream, Sneffels Creek downstream, seep on outslope of Revenue waste rock, Revenue
Office of
Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
7
