PAW -9: This station was installed and monitoring began in 1994 to monitor the overall
effects of the New Elk activities on alluvial groundwater. This well is located on the south bank
of the river near PRS -4. Data collected (annual minimum, maximum, mean) from 1994 to date
are presented in Table B -6.
NEW -1: This sample station, the West Portal shaft of the New Elk Mine, was established
to monitor the recovery (flooding) and quality of water of the sealed New Elk Mine.
Reclamation work has resulted in the loss of this station.
NEW -2: This sample station, the East Portal shaft of the New Elk Mine, was established
to monitor the water levels and water quality in the New Elk Mine. Data collected at this station
are presented in Table B -7.
