Then production will be increased to 150,000 tpy, if commercially feasible. A schedule for
expanding the pilot plant to 75,000 and 150,000 tpy sodium bicarbonate production rate will
be provided in separate Permit Applications. As indicated above, following construction of
the pilot production facility, operations are expected to begin during August, 2000. This
plant will be operated for approximately 5 years. The 75,000 and 150,000 tpy plants are
then expected to begin operation after the pilot plant phase as the market develops. The
150,000 tpy production is then expected to be maintained for the remainder of the 30 year
plant life.
D-2.2 PROJECT STAFFING
On-site construction activities are expected to require up to approximately 130 construction
workers for the 50,000 tpy pilot plant. The estimated number of construction workers by
month are shown in Table D-2.2. As can be seen from this table, the construction work
force is expected to range from an estimated 15 to 130 workers. The peak construction
work force is expected to occur during the Winter and Spring, 2000.
Operation of the 50,000 tpy pilot plant is expected to require a permanent on-site staff of 20
to 25 people. This permanent staffing level also will be maintained when the plant is
expanded to the 75,000 and 150,000 tpy production levels.
G:\LM1M78545.00ZReclamationlReciamexh.DOC D-12
