Paul Osborne: <br />How come you're not monitoring the Uinta? <br />Paul von Guerard: <br />They're not using like a bladder pump to do it, they're using nitrogen. I don't know, I <br />haven't talked to them really about these different systems. <br />Jerry Daub: <br />It maybe described in their final groundwater monitoring plan and it may not. I don't know. <br />Paul Osborne: <br />I don't know that much about it either, but it sounded like an existing system you get around <br />all those high volume purging with the nitrogen. I guess we don't know the difference, <br />except it's cheaper and faster. <br />Jerry Daub: <br />You're talking about basic philosophy differences of having to purge the well bore if you do <br />it one way, versus taking a discreet zone sample that should be under ambient conditions of <br />groundwater pulled through that horizon, whether it's screened or not. Our preference is not <br />to have to evacuate four whole borehole volumes of fluid down to 2,000 ft or even 1,500 ft to <br />get the samples. We'll come up with an acceptable method of sampling that establishes a <br />consistent and credible pattern for AmerAlia's operation. As far as everyone in the room is <br />concerning, is there any problem with what's proposed at this point, then? <br />Jerry Daub: <br />Are you referring to the perched aquifer or are you referring to the Uinta, meaning just over <br />an interval in the Uinta? <br />Paul Osborne: <br />Yes, I'm referring to...you know, at White River I know there is water in the Uinta. <br />Jerry Daub: <br />There is water in the Uinta on the Rock School Lease as well, in the lower portion. We start <br />intersecting water at a depth of about 650 ft, and then from there on down through the R8 <br />Zone and into the A- Groove, we look at it as one unit. And we're proposing just to monitor <br />the A- Groove at this point in time because we don't see a need. That's where most of the <br />flow is from, anyway, is out of the A- Groove and the lower portion of the R8 Zone. <br />Roger Day: <br />Something that White River doesn't do that we're proposing is a down gradient well in the <br />alluvial below the well field near Yellow Creek. We'll put an alluvial sample out there and <br />monitor the water level and water quality periodically. So, this detects discharges near the <br />surface we're responsible for it. <br />Paul Osborne: <br />White River isn't, but American Soda is monitoring the Uinta and the alluvial. <br />30 <br />
