END OF TAPE 3 SIDE A
•
Paul Daggett (continued):
There's going to be a lot of "Well, they didn't do this so how do they know ?"
Harry Posey:
It's not that costly at this stage for some of these stations, is it?
Paul Daggett:
That's kind of a moot point right now. I think it's something that would be very politically
correct for them to do that at this time. That's up to them. We didn't require that from
American Soda. I think it would be professional and courteous to do that. If you worked
with Paul on how to do that, I think it shows some good faith. But, if you don't do that, then
we'll end up doing whatever.
Paul von Guerard:
Do you have a ballpark idea of how much that would cost to be politically correct?
Paul Daggett:
$5,328.32! No, I don't know. It would depend how correct you wanted to be in terms of
how many sites you supported.
Paul von Guerard:
I can't think off the top of my head what that costs, but I'll throw a number out. It would be
in the neighborhood of $5,000 to $10,000 a year; it would probably be less than $10,000. If
you really want a number, call me tomorrow, Jerry, and I can give it to you. All four sites ...
Roger Day:
I think for our project we ought to limit ourselves to Yellow Creek. That's the only one we
can impact.
Paul von Guerard:
You're looking at two gauges and it's $18,000 for two gauges, roughly, and water quality
sampling is around $6,000 or $7,000 for the two sites. So, that's $25,000 and if you split it
three ways, that would be the number. That would be $8,333. I can get you a much more
accurate number than that.
Jerry Daub:
That would be good to know what that is. I wouldn't mind visiting with you on that, and the
next version of the monitoring plan in the series of revisions, and that number also. Anything
else on the surface water monitoring? Any thoughts or ideas?
Paul Daggett:
This comes back to what will be required when you go to commercial, would be doing an on-
the- ground alluvial survey and looking for springs. If you do it now, then you get it out of
the way.
41
