• •
Roger Day:
On Yellow Creek, the USGS stations, you're talking about the one upgradient. Is there
another one that's downgradient?
Jerry Daub:
It's at the mouth at White River. There's the two active stations, right?
Paul von Guerard:
Right. The old site that's near 84 Ranch, we ran that for 2 years, 1975 through 1977. There
are quality data associated with that site, too.
Harry Posey:
At the last meeting with American Soda, they had their list of constituents, and I think it
differed from White River Nahcolite's to some extent, is that right?
Paul Daggett:
I looked at it and everything there that we got freaked out about was covered. The American
Soda list jived with the USGS list well enough that we were satisfied. I think in our
discussion we'd asked about BTX and organics and we weren't excited about those.
Jerry Daub:
Thank you very much for coming. We'll get a plan together and we look forward to your
comments on that. That's part of the requirements for the DMG permit application process.
Next time we'll be meeting in Grand Junction, by the way.
Paul Daggett:
I don't have enough memory or current understanding of the surface water system in that
area to comment about wells and pumping X amount of streams.
Paul von Guerard:
Let's go look at it.
Paul Daggett:
It might make sense to consider doing some inventory of the stream to see how it's
intermittent. But that's going to be so variable depending on the time of year, the water
year, etc.
Paul von Guerard:
Based on your comments, Paul, it seems like you're anticipating eventually going
commercial.
Paul Daggett:
I'm just trying to help them out. I'm sure it doesn't sound that way right now, but I know
you guys are looking to come in with something that's adequate but not cost - prohibitive. It
just comes back to, if you do anticipate to go commercial, the more information that you can
have that you can stand behind and defend, the better off you are. I don't think anybody's
going to be nice to you guys. I think that's just a guess!
40
