2.4 Other Controls
Other pollution control measures will be used in addition to those involved with erosion
and stormwater runoff. These measures will minimize pollution from such sources as
construction wastes, off -site vehicle tracking of sediments, and sanitary wastes.
• Construction Wastes: A waste disposal site will be designated at the staging
area for collection of construction wastes. Wastes will be deposited in the
authorized disposal area. Waste will be regularly hauled from the Project to an
approved landfill. No unsuitable construction wastes (trash, debris, oily or
hazardous wastes, etc) will be disposed of on -site.
• Off -Site Vehicle Tracking of Sediments: Off -site vehicle tracking of sediments
is expected to be minimal. Construction vehicles will remain within the project
area for the duration of the project. Some off -site tracking may occur from the
site access road to County Road 24. The surface of the access road will be
graveled and will be watered along with areas on the site in order to minimize off-
site tracking and dust.
• Sanitary Waste Disposal: Portable toilets will be provided at the project site
until more permanent facilities are constructed. The portable toilets will be
properly maintained, according to state and local requirements, by the contractor
providing those services.
2.5 Compliance with Approved State or Local Regulations
The SWMP was prepared in accordance with the Colorado Department of Public Health
and Environment (CDPHE) Agency's National Pollution Discharge Elimination Systems
General Permit for Construction Activities. A separate General Wastewater Discharge
Permit has been received from the CDPHE for discharges of monitoring well drilling
operations.
3.0 Inspection and Maintenance Procedures
The permittee will be responsible for providing qualified personnel to inspect and
maintain erosion, sedimentation, and other control measures to ensure that they are
operating effectively. A copy of this SWMP, all reports of inspection and maintenance
activities, and records of all data will be retained for a period of 3 years from the date of
final stabilization.
Inspection and maintenance procedures and other BMPs that will be followed to
implement the SWMP and maintain the erosion and sedimentation controls are described
as follows.
