This preliminary Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is submitted to the Division of <br />Minerals and Geology (DMG) as a condition of the Designated Mining Operation (DMO) <br />classification for the Rock School Lease Experimental Nahcolite Mine Project (Project). <br />This ERP is preliminary because the Project has yet to be constructed and personnel and <br />equipment have yet to be secured. This ERP will be updated within 30 days of Project <br />start -up when personnel and equipment are in place. <br />1.0 Personnel <br />Personnel who will be on site and in charge in case of an emergency are: <br />Day Shift <br />Vice President, Operations <br />General Manager <br />Permitting/Safety <br />Operators (2) <br />Other Shifts <br />Operators (2) <br />These positions have not yet been filled. Key response personnel and telephone numbers <br />that can be used by the DMG to contact those individuals will be provided to the DMG in <br />an updated ERP within 30 days of project start-up. <br />2.0 Response Procedures Outline <br />In the event of an emergency involving designated chemicals, the following procedures <br />will be followed by the personnel listed above: <br />1) Ascertain if any human injuries have been sustained, and, if so, contact local <br />emergency response personnel by telephoning 911. <br />2) Stop the flow or excursion of designated chemicals. <br />3) Assess the contamination resulting from excursions of designated chemicals <br />and stop the spreading of contamination. <br />4) If the emergency occurs on a shift other than a day shift, contact the personnel <br />listed in the above "Day Shift" group as appropriate. <br />Emergency Response Plan <br />October 1999 <br />• • <br />AmerAlia, Inc. <br />Rock School Lease <br />Experimental Nahcolite Mine Project <br />EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN <br />1 <br />AmerAlia, Inc. <br />
