• <br />notification will be sent to the CDPHE Water Quality Control Division (WQCD) <br />pursuant to the appropriate CDPHE regulations. <br />(4) Other permits and Licenses: <br />(4)(a) No other air, water quality, solid and hazardous waste, or other federal, state <br />permits, or local licenses are required applicable to the use, handling, storage, or disposal <br />of designated chemicals, and acid mine drainage- forming materials within the permit <br />area. <br />(4)(b) As stated above under (4)(a), no permits are required. <br />(4)(c) As stated above under (4)(a), no permits are required; however, if other such <br />permits do become necessary for the Project, AmerAlia will provide the DMG office the <br />same information within thirty (30) days of receipt. <br />(4)(d) AmerAlia will operate the Project in compliance with all applicable laws or <br />regulations of this state, and the United States, including but not limited to all federal, <br />state, and local permits, licenses and approvals. <br />(5) Designated Chemical Evaluation <br />Assuming that the brine (including primarily sodium bicarbonate) in solution is <br />considered a designated chemical, that material will be present on -site as described in (2) <br />above and in the Application. Please see Response Number 2 in the Responses to DMG <br />Comments letter of November 23, 1999. <br />(5)(a) Sodium bicarbonate is a human bathing salt and food additive, and is not known to <br />affect human health, property, or the environment. <br />(5)(b) The mining process and the extractive process for the Project are described in <br />Exhibit D of the Application. Reclamation of the entire project site is described in <br />Exhibit E of the Application. <br />(5)(c) Please see Response Number 14 in the Responses to DMG Comments letter of <br />November 23, 1999. <br />(6) Designated Chemical(s) and Material(s) Handling <br />(6)(a) The designated chemical sodium bicarbonate will be mined and sold. Dried <br />sodium bicarbonate will be stored in hoppers or silos on -site prior to shipping by truck. <br />There are no plans to dispose of any sodium bicarbonate on -site. Should the Project be <br />terminated, any product remaining in silos, pipelines, or vessels will be either sold or <br />disposed of in an approved landfill. The site will be reclaimed following the procedures <br />presented in Exhibit E- Reclamation Plan in the Application.
