The Phase 11 bond release request applies to
628.6 acres. 220.0 disturbed acres of the Yoast permit are not included in this bond release
application.
Seeding on the bond release areas occurred between 2001 and 2007; segmented iriterseeding
was conducted in 2009 along with segmented reseeding. Vegetation sampling was conducted in
July 2010 by ESCO Associates. ESCO Associates determined that the Yoast Phase II bond release
area passed for cover and for species diversity.
The inspection of the 628.6 acres occurred over two days. The bond release areas were divided
up and traversed by two teams on foot. A visual representation of the entire bond release area
was gained by inspecting in the fashion. DRMS personnel carried Trimble GPS units to log areas
of rill and gullying, erosion, slides, poor vegetative cover, weed patches and good vegetative
cover. This inspector also took photos with a Panasonic GPS camera. The information gathered
will be used to determine if any areas need to be excluded from the approved bond release
area, as well as to inform the operator where weed and erosion areas need attention.
