Harry Ranney, also with the Division, took the photographs in the late morning <br />on 26 September 2011. The Deserado Mine is actively producing and shipping coal and hauling refuse to their <br />refuse piles. The weather was clear and the ground was dry at the time of the inspection. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />- Pond DP -1 contained water but did not appear to be discharging at the time of the inspection (there was no water <br />in Scullion Gulch below the outfall). The pond embankment was well vegetated and appeared to be stable and no <br />erosional problems were noted. There is a small amount of sediment at the inlet of the pond. <br />- Ponds PP -1 and PP -2 are process water ponds for the wash plant. Both ponds were full at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />- The two ponds at the slot storage area (SS -1 and SS -2) were both dry at the time of the inspection. Both pond <br />embankments were well vegetated and appeared to be stable. No erosional problems were noted in either pond. <br />- Pond RP -5a contained a small amount of water but was not discharging at the time of the inspection. The pond <br />embankment was well vegetated and no erosional problems were noted. <br />- Pond RP -4 was dry at the time of the inspection. The pond embankment appeared to be stable and was well <br />vegetated. No erosional problems were noted. <br />- Pond RP -2/3 was dry at the time of the inspection. There was water in the west presettling cell (the east cell was <br />not visible in photos). The pond embankment was stable and well vegetated and no erosional problems were <br />noted. <br />- Pond RP -1 was dry at the time of the inspection.
