1. Section 3.4 — Ventilation/Escape Raise Rehabilitation: the plan
amendment describes the location from FS 505, and references
Figure 1, Site and Layout Plan. Provide accurate location of the
proposed activity. This feature was not surveyed during the
onsite visit, and an additional onsite visit will be required.
A sketch of the ventilation/escape raise area is attached. See Figure 1. The sketch
provides the following information:
• Disturbed Area
• Topsoil Pile
• Fencing
• Raise Details
The location of the ventilation/escape raise is UTM m. 13 S 328355 4194607.
Opening of the ventilation/escape raise will not occur until the new 9400 Level
decline breaks into the existing Bulldog workings. It is anticipated that this will
occur in mid to late summer 2012.
The disturbed area will be reclaimed back to pre - construction conditions. See
attached photo, Figure 2.
2. Provide a plan view of the new portal area and associated road,
along with proposed storm water diversions, if any (Example,
above the face up area, and likely areas where sediment control
such as wattles, etc. will be used). Additional portal
engineering designs if available.
A plan view of the portal bench and facilities is attached. See Figure 3.
A Cross Section view of the portal face up is attached. See Figure 3A.
The Stormwater plan for the Bulldog Project has been updated. See Figure 4.
In general, the portal bench will be graveled to help prevent sedimentation. A
ditch will be placed on the inside toe of the access road that will convey any runoff
to a sediment trap. Interim reclamation will be performed on the out - slopes of the
portal bench and access road once they are complete. Soil medium removed from
the bench footprint will be windrowed at the toe of the bench toe that will stop any
sediment from the bench out - slope. The windrowed soil will be seeded and
stabilized and left in place until final reclamation.
112 East 12 Street P.O.
