Erosion potential for the portal bench out - slopes is considered low because no runoff will be
allowed over the crest of the bench. Directly above the portal bench is an existing road that
diverts up- gradient runoff away from the portal bench. In addition, the area is vegetated.
The facility area is relatively flat and has a small drainage area. Erosion potential is also
considered low.
The evaporation pond is located in a depression (reclaimed tailings cell). A survey of the tailings
area noted no significant erosion. Large diversion structures surround the tailings cell diverting
runoff away from the area. See Evaporation Pond Design report (Plan of Operations — 2011).
Therefore, erosion potential is considered low for the evaporation pond area.
d) A description of the existing vegetation at the site and an estimate of the percent vegetative
ground cover.
RESPONSE: The following estimates have been made for vegetative plant cover for the planned
disturbance area:
Re- disturbed reclaim area: Mixed herbaceous Plants 40 to 50 percent.
New disturbance areas: Mixed herbaceous Plants 45 to 75 percent.
Currently disturbed areas: No vegetation.
e) The location and description of all potential pollution sources, including ground surface
disturbing activities (see Part I.A.2.b), vehicle fueling, storage of fertilizers or chemicals, etc.
RESPONSE: See attached Figure 1, Site Plan Layout. This map shows the planned Portal Bench
and Access Road, the Facilities area and the TP2 Evaporation Pond. The major source for
potential pollution will be as a result of possible erosion and subsequent down - gradient
sedimentation from the areas disturbed by ground disturbing activities associated with the
construction of the Portal Bench, Access Road, and the Facilities Area.
The secondary source of pollution will be from the Maintenance shop and fuel farm area.
t) The location and description of any anticipated allowable sources of non -storm water
discharge at the site, e.g., uncontaminated springs, landscaping irrigation return flow,
construction dewatering, and concrete washout.
RESPONSE: There will be no planned non - stormwater discharge from the project site.
Groundwater from the underground exploration and any runoff from the waste rock dump will be
contained and transported to the TP2 evaporation ponds for containment and eventual
evaporation. See Figure 3, Water Handling Schematic (Plan of Operations Amendment — 2011).
g) The name of the receiving water(s) and the size, type and location of any outfalls(s). If a
storm water discharge is to a municipal separate storm sewer system, the name of that
system, the location of the storm sewer discharge, and the ultimate receiving water(s).
RESPONSE: Exploration activities are located within the West Willow and Rat creek watersheds.
C.3 SWMP CONTENTS — Site Map
Part I. C.2 Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) — Contents: Site Map
The SWMP shall include a legible site map(s), showing the entire site, identifying:
112 East 12 Street P.O.
