Pineda <br />Director <br />On September 8, 2011, Marcia Talvitie of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />(Division) sent a request for the Office of Surface Mining assistance regarding threatened and <br />endangered species. This is a permit application for a new mine in Western Montrose County. In the <br />Division's September letter, reference was made to several permitting documents that are available on <br />the Division's website. To supplement your review, the Division requested that Western Fuels – <br />Colorado, the permittee, submit a water depletion analysis. A copy of the analysis is attached for your <br />information. <br />The Division's decision deadline for this permit application is October 31, 2011.
