Volume: use 14'X14' portal (considering over - break)
(14'X14'X60') = 11,760 cubic feet; 11,760 cubic feet / 27 cubic feet/ cu. yd.
= 436 cubic yards.
Re- contouring: The pre- disturbance slope (natural slope) at the portal bench averages 2.3H:1V.
RGS plans to re -slope the cut slope above the portal bench to about pre — disturbance
conditions. The out -slope of the portal bench (fill area) will also be re- sloped to about 2.3H:1V.
As shown on the sketches provided, there will be a relatively flat area in the middle of the
reclaimed bench. This area will be graded at about 2 -3% away from the cut slope. The portal
bench access road will be re- contoured back to pre- construction topography.
The development waste rock dump will be graded to 2H:1V final slopes.
All other reclaimed areas will be graded back to about their original configuration. Positive low -
gradient drainage will be maintained.
Reclaim areas: All new disturbance and reclaimed areas that are disturbed will be reclaimed.
Approximately 6 inches of soil medium will be scraped off all disturbed or re- disturbed areas
and pushed into windrows around the property perimeter. Soil medium removed from the
portal bench area will be pushed into a windrow at the base of the bench toe. There may not
be 6 inches of growth medium available from the slopes that will be disturbed around the
portal bench. The soil medium will be seeded with the approved interim seed mix, stabilized
and left in -place until reclamation. The soil medium will be replaced (4 inches) over the
disturbed area. Due to the new landforms created by the portal bench and waste rock dump
and the possible lack of soil medium to be salvaged, there may be a shortage of soil medium.
Any additional soil medium needed for reclamation will be borrowed from the tailings area and
brought to the site. It is estimated that 5.6 acres where soil medium will be replaced. See
Figure 3.
Certain facilities will remain as permanent structures. The areas occupied by these structures
will not be reclaimed.
The following structures and facilities will remain as permanent:
➢ Administration Building
➢ Potable Water Tank
➢ Electrical Sub - Station
➢ Main Access Road & Parking Area
➢ Water & Sewer Hookups and Pipelines & Pump House
1 R- 1c8'_Response to PAR Letter 1 &S.c1oc 9/26 /2011
9
