Portal Facilities
The Pole -barn compressor cover will have a metal roof with open sides: dimensions — 10'w X
20'L X 12'H.
Two (2) - 10,000 gallon water tanks: diameter 12'; height 12'. The tanks will be installed
adjacent to each other on the "cut" portion of the portal bench, therefore, no concrete pad is
necessary. The tanks will either be insulated, or, a wooden frame, metal sided structure will be
constructed around the tanks. Dimensions of the building are 20'W X 40'L X 15 H. The
structure will be installed on a temporary wooden foundation, insulated and will be supplied
with electric heat. There will be pipelines from the underground workings to the tanks. The
tanks will have valves and pumps used to fill the tanks from the decline and transfer water to
the #1 holding pond or water trucks.
Maintenance shop: The shop will be located in the facilities area (not on the portal bench). The
shop structure will be 40'W X 50'L X 15'H, fabric material and insulated. Propane heat and
electrical power will be provided. The concrete (reinforce) foundation will be 40W'X5OL'X8"
with an additional 40W'X20'X8" entrance pad. A concrete stem wall will be constructed
around the perimeter to prevent any leaked petroleum products from escaping from the shop.
Fuel and Fluid Storage
All lubricant and fuel storage will comply with Environmental Protection Agency guidelines 40
CFR Part 112 and state of Colorado regulations. A draft SPCC plan has been developed for the
site, however, the prime contractor selected for the project will be required to revise the SPCC
plan based on "as- built" conditions. A copy of the SPCC plan will be available for review at the
project site.
Lubricants and antifreeze will be stored in the maintenance shop and or, a conex storage unit
(40'X10') located adjacent to the shop. This conex will also be a self- contained unit. Lubricants
will be delivered in totes and will be contained in steel containers as mandated by state and
federal regulations.
Diesel fuel will be contained in the fuel storage area. A sketch of the planned storage area is
attached. See Figure 4. The fuel storage area will be lined with either 60 -mil or 80 -mil HDPE.
The containment area will also be used to stored barrels of used oil and lubricants until a
licensed contractor removes the used products for recycle. The containment area will provide
containment of at least 110% of maximum product storage.
Reclamation Plan (Section 10)
Bulkhead — after further discussion and consideration, RGS feels that no bulkhead will be
required to close the Portal. The static water level is well below the portal entrance, therefore,
no bulkhead is required.
Portal backfill: It is planned that about 50' of the portal entrance will be backfilled with
development rock and inert construction demolition waste.
TR -18 Rev /anise to PAR Letter A c .S.(,hoc 9/26/2011 8
