Thomas E. Brubaker
From: Luke Hams [Iharris@bbawater.com]
Sent: Thursday, April 21, 2011 5:42 PM
To: Thomas E. Brubaker
Cc: Jeff Clark
Subject: RE: Valco
Attachments: Canon City Balance.pdf, Rocky Ford Balance.pdf
Tom,
We have reviewed Valco's monthly water supplies and demands for the Canon City and Rocky Ford
pits based on the post reclamation water surface areas. Attached please find two tables
showing depletions, replacement supply and balance of surplus supply and remaining depletion
for the pits on a monthly basis. The following bullets summarize the tables.
* The Canon City East Pit has approximately 13.75 acre -feet of surplus water supply
during the summer months and approximately 5.94 acre -feet of remaining depletion during the
winter months for a net surplus of approximately 7.81 acre -feet for the year. The CC &OC
Ditch HCU credit is based on the WRC Engineering, Inc. analysis for 25 shares and was not
updated to account for Valco's additional share. In the future the HCU analysis may need to
be updated to account for Valco's full 26 shares of ownership in the CC&OC Ditch. Including
the additional share will most likely increase surplus replacement supply during the summer
months and won't affect remaining depletions during the winter months.
* The Rocky Ford East Pit has approximately 13.88 acre -feet of surplus water supply
during the summer months and approximately 16.37 acre -feet of remaining depletion during the
winter months for a net remaining depletion of approximately 2.49 acre -feet for the year.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need additional information.
Cheers,
Luke W.
