Location
This Week
(tons)
Cumulative
(tons)
Comments
DCF Process
0
300,251
Total
0
300,251
ame
and compaction was achieved using a 10 -ton vibratory smooth drum compactor. Nuclear
density testing, moisture verification, and depth check testing was performed with results
within project specifications. Test locations were surveyed by Ames.
D) High Volume Solution Collection System
1) High Volume Solution Collection Piping
Placement of the high volume collection system continued at the DCF placement area shown
on Figure 5, advancing in front of the placement. CPeP was placed and sandbagged in
accordance with design drawings and project specifications.
2) Drain Cover Fill (DCF)
No placement performed during the week (see Figure 5 for previous DCF placement).
Finishing of previously hauled DCF was performed using various CAT dozers and was
observed by AMEC representatives.
Haul routes used for DCF placement on the east crest of the PSSA were ripped using an Ames
CAT D -6 dozer, preparing for ore placement in the area. The area was surveyed by Ames and
any area within 10' of the geomembrane was ripped by Ames to a depth of 18- inches. An
AMEC representative was observed the scarification.
E) Leak Detection Trench
1) VLF
A portion of the leak detection system was installed between stations J13 +00 ( + / -) and J15 +50
( + / -), approximately 100 feet right of centerline. The 1'xl' trench was excavated using a CAT
312 excavator. Leak detection trench construction was observed and inspected by an AMEC
field representative and found to be constructed in accordance with design drawing and project
specifications.
II) Storm Water Management
A) Best Management Practices
Best Management Practices are being observed throughout the Phase 5 VLF Project.
III) Material Processing
A) Drain Cover Fill Process Area
No work performed during the shift.
VLF Weekly Report WE 09.03.2011
