Erickson <br />Response to Fifth Adequacy <br />September 9, 2011 <br />Page 12 <br />DEN 97,599,531v1 9 -9 -11 <br />• Construct stem wall and install steel sets pursuant to design approved <br />under the Portal Collapse Repair Work Plan, Attachment D -2, through <br />the Technical Revision or Amendment process; <br />• Inspect concrete floor, stem wall and roof in mill building for cracks <br />or leaks; <br />• Perform engineering evaluation to develop conclusions and <br />recommendations regarding: <br />o Design criteria for sealing cracks or leaks in concrete floor, stem <br />wall and roof of mill building. <br />• Prepare a technical memorandum summarizing the results of the work <br />described above; <br />• Submit revised design plans for the mill building to address sealing of <br />leaks or cracks in concrete floor, stem wall and roof, as necessary, <br />through the Technical Revision or Amendment process; and, <br />• After obtaining DRMS approval through the Technical Revision or <br />Amendment process, proceed with remainder of work plan, perform <br />scope of work to seal leaks or cracks in concrete floor, stem wall and <br />roof, and obtain licensed professional engineer certification of mill <br />building as Environmental Protection Facility. <br />• Storage sheds, including Zircon or large shipping containers, in which designated <br />chemicals are stored or utilized. <br />o Wildcat has shown the zircon containers and gasoline and diesel storage <br />tanks at the May Day No. 1 on maps at Exhibit U, Figure D -1 <br />(Environmental Protection Plan); and, Attachment D -2, Figures D -1 (May <br />Day No. 1 Surface Facilities) and D -2 (May Day No. 1 Portal Repair and <br />Stormwater Control Plan). Wildcat is submitting revised maps showing <br />zircon containers and gasoline and diesel storage tanks at the May Day No. 1. <br />See Attachment 3 (Attachment D -2, Figure D -1 (May Day No. 1 Surface <br />Facilities) and Attachment D -2, Figure D -2 (May Day No. 1 Portal Repair <br />and Stormwater Control Plan)). There are six zircon containers at May Day <br />No. 1. Wildcat has indicated on Attachment D -2, Figure D -1, that four of <br />these zircon containers —the zircon container north of the mill building, the <br />zircon containers east and west of the generator set, and the southern-most <br />zircon container —do not contain toxic chemicals or acid forming materials, <br />and therefore are not Environmental Protection Facilities.
