Marcia Talvitie
September 9, 2011
Page 3
and the potential need for a point of compliance well. WFC responded by stating they
will consult with CDRMS on location of additional nest site and point of compliance site
and that the new sites would be constructed following permit approval and prior to new
disturbance. Please provide a plan for an additional group of nested wells at a
downgradient location as requested. The Division will require an approved plan and
design for the additional nested well site prior to permit approval. The wells shall be
drilled and installed prior to disturbance. The need for points of compliance can be
determined at a later date following permit approval.
8 -10. Responses accepted.
11. Response accepted. However, there are typos at the top of page 13 of the revised text.
Please remove the underlining from the first paragraph of page 13 and the last sentence of
the same paragraph is fragmented and needs to be revised.
12 -16. Response accepted.
10. WFC indicates that 2.05.6(3) was updated with a discussion of the effects on Coal
Canyon, but there does not appear to be any additional discussion or analysis for Coal
Canyon. Table 2.05.6(3) -2 is referenced on page 28 regarding impacts to flow in Coal
Creek, but there is no flow or water quality information on Table 2.05.6(3) -2 for Coal
Creek Canyon. Please clarify this discrepancy and update the PHC with coal creek
canyon information as originally requested.
11 -13. Responses accepted.
14. There still is insufficient discussion and information pertaining to potential impacts to
Coal Canyon. Table 2.05.6(3) -2 has a shaded space provided for Coal Canyon predicted
flow and quality but information otherwise provided. Coal Canyon is adjacent to the
mining area and should be discussed. Please update Section 2.05.6 -3 with the probable
hydrologic consequences to Coal Canyon.
15 -17. Responses accepted.
18. Meehan draw has been added to the PHC discussion and analysis. However, there is still
no discussion or analysis for Coal canyon. See items 10 and 14 above.
19 -20. Responses accepted.
