5. Contractor shall cut remainder of successful trial seams into two <br />pieces, one to be retained in Rio Grande Silver's archives and one <br />to be retained by Contractor. <br />3.9 NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING <br />A. Contractor shall non - destructively test all field seams over their full length. <br />All test equipment shall be furnished by Contractor. <br />B. The following vacuum box procedures are applicable to extrusion <br />seaming and shall be followed by Contractor: <br />1. Excess sheet overlap shall be trimmed away. <br />2. Clean the vacuum box window, gasket surfaces and check for <br />leaks. <br />3. Energize the vacuum pump and reduce the tank pressure to <br />approximately 5 psi. <br />4. Wet a strip of geosynthetic the approximate dimensions of the <br />vacuum box with the soapy solution. <br />5. Place the box over the wetted area and compress. <br />6. Close the bleed valve and open the vacuum valve. <br />7. Ensure that a leak -tight seal is created. <br />8. For a period of not Tess than ten (10) seconds, examine the <br />geosynthetic through the viewing window for the presence of soap <br />bubbles. <br />9. If no bubbles appear after ten (10) seconds, close the vacuum <br />valve and open the bleed valve, move the box over the next <br />adjoining area with a minimum 3 -in overlap and repeat the <br />process. <br />10. All areas where soap bubbles appear shall be marked and <br />repaired and then retested. <br />11. Test locations, documentation number, date and tester will be <br />indicated with an indelible marker on the geosynthetic for each <br />repair or seam section.
