Flood Control Levee August 24, 1999 Page <br />1 and 2. Colorado Highway 93 is located to the south and west, US ffighway 36 is located to the <br />north, and South Boulder Creek lies to the east. It sits on the natural flood plain of South Boulder <br />Creek and forms the westem edge of the base -flood plain for a portion of its length. See Figure 3. <br />The tributary area of South Boulder Creek is reported to be about 109 square miles at Eldorado <br />Springs, and 132 square miles at its confluence with Boulder Creek. The basin's boundary as <br />identified by G& 0 is shown on Figure 4. <br />BACKGROUND AND HISTORY <br />Table 1 and Figures 5A and 5B are tine -line summaries of the activities of various parties which <br />identify or affect the flood plain of South Boulder Creek. Key activities are also described below. <br />The earliest formal identification of the flood potential and 100-year flood plain of South <br />Boulder Creep was by the US Army Corps of Engineers USACB in August 1969.
