Mining Plan
Exhibit D
installed along the existing and future planned roads and the benches. (See Attachment
D -1). The SWMP has also been submitted to the CDPHE and is awaiting approval. As
necessary, Wildcat will submit a copy of a revised SWMP reflecting CDPHE comments
when CDPHE approval has been obtained.
C. Repair of May Day No 1., May Day No. 2, and Chief Portal
The work plans for the various mine components follows:
• The May Day No. 1 collapsed portal and bench will be repaired in accordance
with the work plan presented in Attachment D -2, as illustrated on Figure D -1 and
Exhibit 6.5;
• The May Day No. 2 drainage work plan is presented in Attachment D- 3; and,
• The Chief Portal stabilization and drainage work plan is presented in Attachment
D -4.
D. Mill Retrofit and Commissioning
Following stabilization of the May Day No. 1 portal (See Attachment D -2), any damage
to the mill equipment will be repaired. Additionally, the following modifications will be
made to the mill, portal and the adit:
• Aligning and repairing, and testing the ball mill in the May Day No. 1 mill; and,
• Installing a filter press or suitable alternative to make a dry tailing filter cake.
(See Attachment D -2 and Attachment D -5).
The conceptual mill processing schematic is presented in Figure D -2 and Figure D -3.
Tailings will be piped less than 50 feet in dual - walled pipe to the tailings dewatering
equipment (See Attachment D -2 and Figure D -1) where the dry cake will be loaded into
hoppers. The solids will be moved underground for disposal using loaders such as a skid
steer. Water from the dewatering unit will be recycled through the mill as illustrated on
the material and process water flow sheets Figure D -2 and Figure D -3. As -built
construction drawings will be submitted 45 days following completion of construction.
E. Dry Stacked Tailings
Based upon preliminary sampling, Wildcat has demonstrated that the mine rock is not
hazardous or toxic producing, and has demonstrated the chemicals to be used to
concentrate ore will not impact the environment. (See Attachment U -4). After 100 years
of mining, the La Plata River and Deadwood Gulch have not been impacted by surface or
groundwater within the study area. Based on existing analytical, proposed implemented
BMPs, and the fact that no impacts to water quality from historic mining have been
detected, Wildcat predicts there will be no impacts from future mining
Wildcat Mining Corporation
May Day Idaho Mine Complex — 112d Permit Application
Revised August, 2011
Exhibit D — Rule 6.4.4
